Cosy Winter Getaways: Why Bluestone Ridge is Perfect for the Cooler Months
There’s something special about winter in the King Valley. Crisp air, golden light, and the serene silence that fills the air as the season changes. At Bluestone Ridge, we’ve created a space that makes the most of the cooler months, think misty mornings, roaring fire pits, and long, lazy afternoons wrapped in a blanket.
Snuggle In With Soft Throws and Slow Mornings
Each of our cabins is thoughtfully styled for comfort, with plush linens, warm blankets, and soft textures that invite you to stay in bed just a little longer. Misty mornings roll over the valley and are best enjoyed with a hot cup of tea or coffee in hand.
Gather Around the Fire Pit
As the sun dips behind the hills, the fire pit becomes the heart of the evening. Toast marshmallows, sip your favourite red wine, and share stories under a sky full of stars. We’ll provide everything you need to get the flames going, just bring good company and a bottle or two.
A Red Wine Lover’s Dream
Winter and red wine go hand in hand, and Bluestone Ridge is perfectly placed in the heart of King Valley’s wine country. Spend your days cellar door hopping, sampling bold Sangioveses, smooth Shirazes and rich Tempranillos from nearby wineries, many of which are family-run and open year-round.
Peaceful Walks & Misty Views
Set on an 800-acre working cattle farm, Bluestone Ridge offers over 20km of private walking and biking trails to explore on foot or by car. In winter, the misty hills and quiet tracks create the perfect backdrop for a peaceful escape. Along the way, you’ll likely be greeted by our friendly sheep, goats, and alpacas.
When It’s Too Cold Outside
If the weather turns, head to the Communal Hut, a warm, inviting space to relax by the indoor fireplace. Grab a board game, pour a glass of red, and settle in for a cosy afternoon or evening.
